350th anniversary of Rhode Island's "lively experiment" in religious freedom
Michael J. Murray is a practicing Attorney in Newport, Rhode Island and an amateur Historian. A native Rhode Islander, Michael attended high school in Newport, and received his A.B. degree in History from the College of the Holy Cross. Michael has served as Chairman of the Planning Board in Barrington, R.I. and as a member of the Historic District Commission and Planning Board of the City of Newport. He was a member of the Newport World Heritage Committee which achieved National Park Service recognition of Colonial Newport as a nomination worthy of listing as a World Heritage Site.
Michael has served on the boards of the Providence Art Club, Fort Adams Trust and the Newport Art Museum. He is a retired Naval Reserve Officer and focuses his law practice in the area of Real Estate Law.
